How to Remove Melted ChapStick Stains on Clothes
Simple ways to get ChapStick Out of ClothesMillions of people use ChapStick to keep their lips properly lubricated during the dry season. As winter months are approaching, time usually begins to spin the parasol, and most people begin to wear ChapSticks in their pockets. Every time their lips feel dry, they take out the balm of lips and apply it. Not only does the lipstick know and smell good, but it also prevents your lips from hitting. But remember where you kept the ChapStick isn't as easy as you might think. Most people completely forget the ChapStick is in their pockets, and put their clothes on the washing machine without thinking twice. Imagine opening the dryer and pulling out the clothes, just to find a big stain on your favorite shirt caused by a cast ChapStick! It's one of the worst feelings in the world, but something that happens more often than you might think. ChapStick is made of a combination of different materials, such as wax, dye and oil. As you can understand, removing these stains from any kind of fabric will not be easy. If you allow the stains to settle in a longer period of time, it will be practically impossible for you to remove them on your own. However, the key to successful removal of stains is to make sure you get the stains as quickly as possible. It's not going to be easy, but the chances of success are considerably higher if you start right away. There are some key ingredients that you can use to remove ChapStick's melted stains from your clothes. Before you startRemember, you should first try any type of cleaning solution or detergent in a corner or an immeasurable section of the cloth to determine whether the solution is working properly or not. If you notice any type of discoloration in the tissue, stop using that method immediately. You should know that old stains are not going to be easy to remove, and you may need to repeat the cleaning process at least a couple of times before you can get the desired results. ChapStick could melt due to a variety of reasons. You could forget it in your pocket and leave it in a hot area of the house. Or, in most cases, the heat of your body could cause ChapStick to melt too. Eliminating stains caused by the lip balm is not easy at all, but it is feasible. Now that you know the basics, it's time to start with the cleaning process. Professional approachIf you don't want to go through the pains of cleaning the stains on your own, the best thing you can do is to take it to a professional cleaner. If the stained garment had a label on it that indicates it is only for dry cleaning, you should visit your local dry cleaner. Give them the garment and show them the stain. Let them know what caused the stain, and they'll do the rest. If you are going to use a dry home cleaning kit, you may want to first treat the stain with the special stains that comes in the kit before deciding to place the garment in the dry cleaning bag. Start by scratching the Waste The first step is to carefully inspect the stain. You can notice a semi-solid wax on the upper surface of the tissue. Collect a spoon or a boring knife, and scrape any residue that may be glued to the surface. Tracking the wax is vitally important, as it will help prevent wax residue from being more embedded in the tissue. Pretreatment Remove these stains is not a simple process. To maximize your chances of removing stains, you first need to pre-treat the fabric. You can buy a tissue cleaner based on local store enzymes, and then treat each stain individually. If you can't find one in your area, using a powerful laundry detergent is a wise idea. These detergents contain enzymes that are able to clean the oily residue from stains, and separate it from fibers. Use your fingers to work properly the strips on the fabric. You can also use a brush, although make sure that it only has soft bristles. Then let the stains remove at least half an hour. This is important, as it will help loosen the oily stains of fibers and makes it easy for you to remove them completely. Wash the GarmentOnce the remover has had enough time to rest, you should consider re-launching it. It is better to use hot water (see the label on the garment to determine the hottest temperature allowed to wash the cloth), as it is much more effective to get rid of the stains. Then you can remove the stains from the garment by repeating the process. The Brown Bag Strategy This is another proven method you can use to get rid of the stains of your clothes. The first thing to do is inspect the clothes to determine all the main stains. Be sure to look closely and identify all the points where the stains could exist. You will want to make sure there is no more than one area that is covered with stains. The next step is to scrape all the wax that could have picked on the fabric. Write it down on a paper towel and then get rid of it properly to prevent wax residue from getting into other clothing items you can be washing on the side. Now, you need to take a brown paper bag and break it in the middle, creating a flat sheet of paper. If you can't find a brown paper bag, using a smooth piece of paper is also a great alternative. Place the paper below, and then place your garment stained at the top. Make sure the wax stain is facing up. Then take another piece of paper and place it on top of the stain, covering it on both sides. The next step is to take an iron, and put it on medium heat. Make sure you keep the steam off. Once the iron is hot enough, you just have to put it on top of the paper and use it. Make sure you don't leave the iron in a place, otherwise it's gonna make the garment burn. He keeps moving it and expects the wax to move to paper. When that happens, you'll notice that an oily place appears in the paper. It's a sign you need to replace the paper. Keep the iron on the side and change the paper from below and from the top, and then repeat the process. You can stop when no more wax appears in the paper. Don't forget to unplug your iron too! Remove the cloth, and pour some laundry detergent into the spotted area. Fold the fabric into two and rub the laundry detergent in the fibers carefully. Let the item feel at least a few minutes before you put it in the washing machine. As before, you need to check the label to determine the hottest temperature allowed to wash the fabric, and set the settings of your washing machine accordingly. Once the turning cycles are finished, you need to dry the clothes properly. The stain could be completely lost. Bleaching If none of the methods work, there is another option available for you: safe color whitening. Whitening is not advised because it usually causes discoloration in the tissue, and could also significantly reduce the life span of the tissue used. However, if you want to remove the stain, use whitening chlorine or even color-safe whitening is a great idea. The chlorine bleach is usually suitable for white fabrics, while the color-safe whitener is ideal for color garments. You need to be very careful when dealing with bleach, as it could burn your fingers. Use appropriate security measures while washing your clothes, and don't leave the bleach on for too long. When the whitening is removed, you can put your clothes on a washing machine and wash them at high temperature. These are just some of the methods you can use to get rid of ChapStick from your clothes. These stains are quite difficult to get rid of, and depends mainly on the moment. If the stain has settled for several days, it could be almost impossible for you to remove. The importance of timely action cannot therefore be underestimated. As soon as you notice a ChapStick stain melted in your clothes, you have to work. Don't let him calm down!
